Triple P founder Professor Matt Sanders has been spreading the word about free Triple P in Queensland, calling on local governments to join the state-wide initiative to support parents.

Speaking to delegates at the Local Government Managers Australia Queensland annual conference on the Gold Coast on Wednesday (September 13, 2017), the parenting expert said "parents who know better, do better”.

Prof Sanders said children who grow up in homes where parents feel supported and encouraged are proven to have better language and social skills, experience more positive relationships, and have better school, job and health outcomes.

So he encouraged local governments to let parents in their communities know that free Triple P is available to give parents tools to deal with the big and small issues of raising children.

“The single most important thing we can do to prevent serious behavioural and emotion problems in children is to help parents in the most important job in the world, raising the next generation,” said Prof Sanders.
