To celebrate one year of free Triple P in Queensland, Triple P founder Professor Matt Sanders will present one of his most popular positive parenting seminars in Logan City on Tuesday, August 23 at 7pm.
Raising Confident, Competent Kids is a FREE 90-minute seminar packed with great ideas that can help parents set their children up for success. It gives parents ideas to encourage their child to:
- Show respect
- Be considerate
- Communicate well
- Get on with well with others
- Solve problems
- Become independent
Professor Sanders, who is considered one of the world’s foremost parenting experts, will also be on hand to answer parents’ questions after the seminar.
Joining him at the seminar will be Triple P ambassador, footy star and recent graduate of the Triple P Online course Corey Parker; Queensland Minister for Communities Hon. Shannon Fentiman; and Logan Mayor Mr Luke Smith.
“This is going to be a great event for parents,” says Carol Markie-Dadds, Queensland Program Director of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program.
“Not only will it be the chance to see one of the world’s leading parenting experts share some of his proven parenting strategies, but also a night to talk parenting with a local footy legend. Parents can get together for a coffee, meet some of our special guests, and chat about the good and downright challenging things about raising kids!"
Organisers are hoping the seminar will be the biggest held in Queensland since the free Triple P parenting initiative was launched by the Queensland Government last year. Already almost 20,000 Queensland parents have attended Triple P Seminars, group courses or done Triple P Online.
