The Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Emma McBride MP launched the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program at the Kids Academy Warnervale in her electorate of Dobell on New South Wales’ Central Coast.  The centre is run by the Affinity Education Group (AEG), one of Australia’s leading providers of childcare nationally.

Following receipt of a $40.6 million Australian Government Parenting Education and Support Grant, Triple P’s online parenting programs are now free for all parents and carers of young children (under 12 years).  A suite of online programs accessible from smart phones, tablet and laptops, the easy to use modules can now be utilised by all parents and carers at their own pace and in their own time.

Assistant Minister The Hon Emma McBride MP said Triple P is an excellent resource for parents and carers.

“It’s important for parents and carers to look after their own mental health and wellbeing, as well as their children’s, and this program will give them the support they need when they need it,” the Assistant Minister said.

“Triple P also aims to reduce the stigma around seeking help and support and encourages families to have those important conversations with each other.”

Triple P International Country Director, Carol Markie-Dadds, said parents and carers are struggling right now with increased levels of anxiety and stress as result of the pandemic, natural disasters, and ongoing financial pressures.

“This funding means that all families with young children in Australia will have free access to Triple P’s evidence-based toolbox of strategies to build their children’s resilience, including their emotional and coping skills, benefitting them now and as they get older,” said Ms Markie-Dadds.

Triple P is a university-developed Australian program, backed by hundreds of research trials and proven by millions of parents around the world.

Triple P has delivered positive outcomes for children and their families across Australia, and more than 30 countries around the world, for over 40 years.  The Affinity Education Group, are vocal advocates for the benefits of the program, promoting it to its community of parents and carers as a trusted affiliate provider.

Delivery of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program to parents and carers of children in Australia is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care under the Parenting Education and Support Program.
